The AC Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the day to day functions of their team, making sure work is completed timely and efficiently, team members are happy, and members have a positive experience while being guided through their cases.

Essential Functions: 
 
Communication: 
  • Effectively communicate changes in procedures and processes; departmental and companywide 
  • Provide direction and encouragement to the department 
  • Resolve escalated calls from members in accordance with company and department policy 
  • Communicate with members, team members and cross departmentally professionally and respectfully always 
 
Team Supervision: 
  • Mentor and lead team members; model the way
  • Monitor and review team performance 
  • Conduct quarterly check-ins and annual performance reviews 
  • Discipline through verbal and written warnings 
  • Facilitate activities and challenges to boost morale and team work 
  • Actively enforce departmental and TaxAudit’s policies and procedures 
  • Provide opportunities for individual growth and success 
  • Participate in leadership training programs 
 
Training: 
  • Know, understand and teach AC processes 
  • Review and monitor work to insure accuracy and ensure that ACs have a complete understanding of their job functions 
  • Provide ongoing and timely feedback to team members about individual performance 
 
 Requirements: 
 
  • 3-5 years of full-time experience in customer service 
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while working in a fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to learn new and complex processes and systems quickly and to teach others 
  • Ability to be diplomatic, trustworthy, professional and respectful in all situations 
  • Represent the company with integrity and commitment 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and coaching ability 
  • Supervisory experience is a plus

Our Sacramento-area headquarters is looking for an Information Security Engineer who will assist with our efforts to protect our company and member information assets from all threats. Under the direction of the Information Security Manager, this position is key to maintaining our state-of-the-art security systems, developing automated response mechanisms, identifying and remediating vulnerabilities, and maintaining incident response skills and knowledge. 

Key Objectives and Results: 
As a successful Information Security Engineer, you will:
  • Deploy, manage and effectively maintain security systems and their corresponding or associated software, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, cryptography systems, and anti-virus software.
  • Ensure our systems are safe against attack by maintaining and tuning our state-of-the-art intrusion detection and prevention systems.
  • Help build a culture of organizational security by working closely with our users, IT staff, Software Engineering, and Facilities departments.
  • Further our culture of enjoyable excellence by being part of a focused, flexible, and fun team of experts who work well with their team members and across the organization.
  • Demonstrate vigilance by responding to incidents, tuning procedures, and participating in our ongoing security assessment and remediation programs.
  • Audit and adjust permissions, access-lists, file shares, and any other access control mechanism in place.
 
  Job Requirements: 
  • Must actively represent and promote the purpose, culture, and core values of the company.
  • Professional security certification strongly preferred, such as CISSP, CISA, CEH, applicable GIAC programs or other industry certifications i.e. Cisco, Microsoft, VMware
  • Familiarity with security tools (SIEM, web application firewalls, endpoint protection, forensics, network firewalls, vulnerability scanners, penetration test, etc.).
  • Experience with Cisco security solutions strongly preferred.
  • At least five years of experience in administering state-of-the art information security systems within a virtualized Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Perform day-to-day operations of in-place and future security solutions and identify, investigate, and resolve security events detected by those systems.
  • Participate in the creation of documents (policies, standards, baselines, guidelines, and procedures) under the direction of the IT Security Manager, where appropriate.
  • Maintain up-to-date detailed knowledge of the IT security industry including awareness of new or revised security solutions, improved security processes and the development of new attacks and threat vectors.
  • Review logs and reports of all in-place devices, whether they be under Infosec’s control (i.e., security tools) or under IT/Other control (i.e., workstations, servers, network or lab devices, etc.). Interpret the implications of that activity and devise action plans for appropriate resolution.
  • Provide on-call support for security incidents and alerts.
  • Review and evaluate patch reconnaissance to schedule (where appropriate) and apply fixes and security patches in accordance with our Vulnerability Management Lifecycle.
  • Must be flexible and able to multi-task, while responding to changing business demands. 
  • You have 6+ years in System Administration.
  • You’re a ninja adjusting policies in Active Directory.
  • Your network troubleshooting abilities are out of this world.
  • You love talking to strangers on the phone or in person.

IT Helpdesk Technician

The IT Helpdesk Technician works in the Tier-1 support group to support our employees’ and members’ technology needs. The ideal candidate will possess the technical skills and personal attributes that we believe are vital to our stability and growth. They will also consistently demonstrate our core values. The candidate must be able to manage multiple tasks while providing the highest level of customer service and professionalism.

Key Objectives and Results: 

As a successful IT Helpdesk Technician, you will:
 
  • Handle Tier-1 support calls via phone, email or personal request
  • Document, track, and monitor assigned ticket progress ensuring timely resolution
  • Assist in the setup, maintenance, and support of our workstations and systems
  • Configure new users on the network and within our applications
  • Input information regarding calls into our tracking system
  • Research solutions to technical problems and suggest innovative ideas
  • You love talking to strangers on the phone or in person
  • You’re a ninja at deploying operating systems to computers
Job Requirements: 
 
  • Energetic with a willingness to learn and adapt to our fast-paced IT department
  • Comfortable working independently as well as within a team
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair basic computer, laptop, and printer issues
  • Ability to diagnose basic workstation to network connectivity problems

Our intention is to provide our members with the highest level of audit representation available, and our goal is that they should never have to meet with the IRS or state tax agency. We are looking for a remote Outside Representative who is passionate about helping others and shares our values of caring for people, having a positive attitude and being dedicated to the team.
 
As an Outside Representative you will be responsible for handling any audit assigned by our Audit Division, from assignment to resolution or reassignment internally. We will review each audit notice and tax return prior to assignment and will discuss any issues that may be relevant to the representation when the audit is assigned to you. If any out of town travel is required, we will reimburse preapproved expenses. If additional research is required, we will provide that research in addition to assisting you with any questions or concerns that occur throughout the course of the audit. Representation does not include preparing books and records, or preparing and amending tax returns.

Essential Functions:
Manage federal and state tax audit defense case load, which includes:
  • Working with the taxpayer to assist in gathering documents and information
  • Utilize any electronic case management or case tracking system used by TaxAudit
  • Follow all procedures and utilize all resources TaxAudit shall establish or provide for the transmission, communication and protection of Confidential Member Information
  • Organizing documents and preparing response packages for submission to IRS and state taxing authorities
  • Drafting correspondence and discussing cases and tax law with IRS and state agents
 Qualifications:
  • EA, CPA or Attorney
  • 3-6 years of experience representing taxpayers before the IRS and local tax agencies
  • Competence in tax law knowledge
  • Working knowledge of how the IRS is organized and how audit and appeals issues are handled
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to communicate clearly in the explanation of tax related issues
  • Intermediate to Strong Computer Skills

The Audit Department is the largest member facing department at TaxAudit.
