CTEC Jobs FAQs
What is a CTEC?
CTEC stands for California Tax Education Council. In California, only Attorneys, EAs, CPAs, and CTEC Registered Tax Preparers can legally prepare tax returns for a fee. Although TaxAudit does not prepare tax returns, having a CTEC means you have enough tax knowledge to do well as a Junior Tax Professional at TaxAudit.
Will TaxAudit pay my CTEC Certification Fees?
Yes. One of the benefits of working at TaxAudit is that the company will cover the cost of tax license renewal and certification fees.
Does TaxAudit have a CTEC Career Path?
Yes, TaxAudit offers a Tax Academy for employees who are just getting started in the tax field and have not yet obtained a CTEC certification. If you already have your CTEC license, TaxAudit has a program designed to help CTECs obtain their EA license, so their career can advance to a tax professional position.
I am currently a CTEC Tax Preparer. Do you have a position for me at TaxAudit?
Yes, TaxAudit actively looks for CTEC Tax Preparers to fill our Junior Tax Professional positions. At TaxAudit, we do not prepare tax returns; rather, we represent taxpayers dealing with the taxing authorities. Having tax preparer experience gives you a good knowledge base to succeed in a Junior Tax Professional position. As a Junior Tax Professional, you will be working alongside seasoned tax professionals who will help you learn even more about taxes.
